Meanswhile - Air Circulation System Rain Jacket - Coyote
A truly unique rain jacket from Meanswhile that takes inspiration from the air cooling systems used in Japanese construction workers clothing that allows them to continue to work in both hot and wet conditions. Building a cooling system into a rain jacket is still pretty unique in broader fashion terms but provides a garment that can be worn in multiple situations made even more apparent by the fact this jacket can convert into a vest. Two fans powered by a chargeable power pack suck in air from outside and distribute it into the jacket. It's a unique sensation and we've personally tested this in 38 degrees and it works incredibly well at keeping you cool. When the fans aren't needed it works like a regular 3 layer rain coat keeping out the weather.
It might seem strange but this is one clear example where wearing more clothing on a hot day would help keep you frosty cool. We can think of numerous examples where this would be beneficial but non more so than stuffed onto a crowded train on a daily summer commute, personal air conditioning.
The jacket has a unique zip off sleeve section meaning it can be worn as a traditional jacket or vest. There are adjusters to the rear that allow you to keep the fans protected whilst allowing them to suck in maximum air. There is plenty of pockets, adjustment and an adjustable hood. Impressive stuff from meanwhile and amazing to see such a forward thinking design.
supplied with Japanese plug for battery pack so you will need the correct international plug adapter for your region.
