Gaddammmnn we've waited a long time for this one. A few years have passed since J.L-A.L and HOKA combined on their legendary first collaboration but it seems like the time was put to good use, very good use. With the launch of this second project J.L-A.L has taken the truly performance minded trail shoe the Mafate X and put it into a whole new stratosphere. Possible the nicest looking trail running shoe we're ever seen that can still cut it with the front of the pack even on long haul efforts.
The Mafate X uses a dual-density, premium foam chassis, PEBA top layer, and forked carbon fiber plate to provide comfort and propulsion in equal measure. An ultralight woven upper allows for easy drainage and Vibram® Megagrip outsole delivers on the roughest of surfaces. With Jean Luc Amberg Lavelle bringing high class design principles to the Mafate X through his remarkable use of colour, unique contrast colour reflective details and subtle branding. This is a shoe that can smoke 'em on the trail and still cut it on the runway in Paris. (Each colour-way comes with 3 different sets of laces to allow some personalisation).
