Korean Outdoor Goodness From CAYL

We've watched Korean Outdoor brand CAYL with some promise for a while now. Still a relatively unknown brand in the UK (outside of a small circle of loyal followers) they've been creating waves in their native Korea with their fresh outdoor focussed clothing and equipment. 

CAYL, which stands for Climb As You Love was started in 2011 by founder and designer Euijae Lee. Not having a traditional background in clothing or fashion Euijae had a clear passion for the outdoors whether it was biking, climbing or hiking. It was this passion that brought him to the point of making products for his personal use, at first out of the frustration that he couldn't really find the products he wanted at that time in South Korea.

That first step into producing product evolved into making products for friends, then friends of friends and finally into a fully fledged outdoor brand.

CAYL develop and make some incredible outdoor product that can more than stand up to their intended use in the wild outdoors. Euijae and his team field test products on their regular long distance hikes into the Korean mountains often for 2 to 3 days at a time. However they firmly believe that their products should also be practical and comfortable to wear when not in the mountains and this line between performance and practicality is what makes CAYL such an interesting brand for This Thing Of Ours. 

Throw in that South Korea gets some pretty distinct seasons with everything from baking sun and high humidity to monsoon type rains and snow drifts and you pretty much have the perfect testing environment for outdoor clothing. 

Working with high quality materials such as Pertex and Primaloft This Thing Of Ours will be taking onboard an impressive selection of products from CAYL this winter. We're super impressed with what we've seen so far and can't wait to bring you more products from the Korean brand.
