Earn your Stripes with Stripes For Creatives (S.F.C)

As we progress into Spring and onto Summer, S.F.C (Stripes For Creatives) joins This Thing of Ours’ ever-growing yet carefully curated brand offering to supply the uniform, or, at least, the components, to help you navigate the months ahead. Oversized and flowy silhouettes made using lightweight fabrics seek to do just that. 

In the grand scheme of things, Stripes For Creatives is relatively new on the scene. Launched in early 2020, the Japanese label is headed up by Hiro Yumoto who is responsible for overseeing design for several clients, including SOLARIS SPORTS, e.sen and, not forgetting, S.F.C. Like other ‘up-and-comers’ who are causing a stir, highlighting there is always space for someone to do something unique, S.F.C has quickly found its footing and earned a tidy following on Instagram of just shy of 35,000 followers. 

S.F.C is known for its unique approach to design, combining elements of casual clothing with a distinctly streetwear aesthetic and silhouettes. The brand’s concept revolves around creating what S.F.C defines as ‘original basic items’ with an emphasis on ‘irregular balance’ which is symbolised by the distinctive stripes in their logo; these same stripes can also be found on several S.F.C garments past and present. Now, back to understanding S.F.C’s vision. It is relatively simple, yet perhaps underappreciated: they take a creative and practical approach to seemingly ordinary silhouettes to ensure they can be worn all year round without a second thought. Think of it like a capsule wardrobe, where you can pick and choose different pieces to suit your style and needs.  

In each collection, expect to find a cacophony of well-considered garments, headwear and accessories. From lightweight outerwear to oversized staples like t-shirts and short-sleeve shirts, to characteristically wide trousers and shorts. This Thing of Ours’ inaugural delivery of S.F.C aims to accurately portray the brand’s ethos through its product offering.
