OAMC’s Luke Meier and Japan’s cult technical apparel brand Goldwin collaborate on a new collection
OAMC and Goldwin have teamed up for Fall/Winter 2024, developing a six-piece collection. The partnership blends OAMC’s innovative designs, dedication to detail, and modern aesthetics with Goldwin’s 70 years of technical expertise and functional excellence, rooted in the philosophy of unity with nature and commitment to a circular economy. The outerwear features traditional cords, an insulation connection system, custom materials with a wool surface but a waterproof membrane, and hand-written product labels for each item. All pieces reflect the meticulous attention to detail of OAMC's Creative Director Luke Meier and Goldwin's design philosophy.
The campaign centers around the theme of duality, highlighting both the partnership between OAMC and Goldwin and the inherent wisdom of exploring the mountains in pairs. Set against
the beautiful backdrop of the Dolomite Mountains, this concept blends together the narratives of collaboration, connection, and exploration. Two models - The two models are photographed together, embodying the idea of venturing into the mountains in twos for safety, companionship, and shared experiences, symbolizing the synergy that arises when two forces unite in pursuit of a common vision. Dynamic compositions will highlight the interplay between the models as they navigate rocky trails or share quiet moments of contemplation. The shoot draws parallels between the symmetrical beauty of the natural landscape and the balanced design aesthetics of the collection, creating a visual dialogue between nature and human creativity.
‘I was excited to work with Goldwin as they are a leader in functional products with a deep knowledge and a high-quality tradition. I was able to meet with them first in Tokyo, and then several times in Milan, and I am very proud of the collection we have created together. The styles are bold, yet simple, and are very well made, which is a perfect combination of the design ethos of OAMC and Goldwin. The pieces are oversized and dynamic in volume but offer a freedom of movement so that they can be used for myriad outdoor activities. The pieces can be worn in different combinations, with the outwear featuring a delicate tied interface.’ Luke Meier, co-founder and creative director
OAMC x Goldwin will launch on 20th September online at www.thisthingofours.co.uk and in our Manchester UK Store.
