Born from a design brief to create a fully waterproof shell that packs down no larger than an orange, The Orange Jacket is Houdini’s ultimate emergency weather protection. Tipping the scales at an astonishing 178g, this ultralight garment is engineered to sit unnoticed in the bottom of your pack until high-mountain weather turns, delivering full storm defense without the weight penalty of traditional hard shells.

Despite its feathery feel, the jacket offers uncompromising performance via an emergency 3-layer Atmos™ fabric produced in Japan. Delivering a 20,000mm waterproof rating alongside high breathability, it keeps driving rain and biting winds at bay while dumping internal moisture during fast-paced ascents. The minimalist silhouette is stripped of all redundant hardware, featuring a snug cap-compatible hood, elasticated cuffs and hem, and an emergency chest pocket that doubles as a integrated stuff sack.

Crafted from 100% recycled polyester with a PFAS-free DWR treatment, the smooth, silent face fabric glides effortlessly over mid-layers while remaining soft against skin. Built adhering strictly to Houdini’s circular design principles, its mono-material construction allows it to be completely recycled back into new polyester yarn at the end of its lifespan.
