Classic Sweatshirts

Classic Sweatshirts

The classic Sweatshirt is a very much misunderstood garment these days. It's been downtrodden over the years by cheap, widely available fleece backed product from many of the major sporting brands that inevitably seems to end up in a charity shop or landfill within a year or so.

It hasn't always been like that and at This Thing Of Ours we've certainly got a thing for the humble French Terry sweatshirt. For us, when it's done well there is few more versatile items for a man to have in his wardrobe. Wether it's a lightweight French Terry that can be worn to a Summer BBQ once the sun sets or a brushed French Terry ideal for keeping out a winter chill we're BIG fans.

Mohammed Ali in a classic combo of heavyweight Sweatpants & Sweatshirt:

Arguably our favourite Sweatshirts over the last years if not ever come from National Athletic Goods. National Athletic Goods are Canadian brand that only produce premium quality sportswear. Quite simply their products are some of the best we've ever owned. Taking inspiration from vintage American sportswear National Athletic Goods source the highest quality fabrics, often having them custom made in Japan to meet their strict criteria. Finally they take all of their expertise and attention to detail to create high quality sportswear products with an authentic vintage look and feel, right down to the last detail.

We've got a real soft spot for their sweatshirts whether its the classic Double V Sweatshirt with heaps of authentic athletic style:

or the 1/4 Zip Sweatshirt with its "weekend at the Hamptons" preppy styling and "Talon" zip (if you know, you know).

Sweatshirts done right and more "Ali" than "JD"
