Coming Soon: "J EONGL I" by Jeong Li

Flying the flag for a new wave of designers.
Established in Seoul, South Korea, J EONGL I is swiftly climbing the ranks of the burgeoning technical design space, leaving its mark in the process.
Like similar brands in the field, J EONGL I, founded by Jeong Li, was established a little over a year ago, using Autumn/Winter ‘22 as its springboard collection. With the ongoing interest in functional design, particularly from South Korean labels, the brand has picked up some serious momentum in a short period of time. Since then, Li’s eponymous label has gone from strength to strength and it's starting to show with every collection to date selling out and leaving followers yearning for more.
Spurred on by the idea of re-creating contemporary classics through a technical lens, the brand is underpinned by three core elements: neatness, sophistication and practicality. How does this manifest? Well, if we are going off its debut collection, the result is technical hard shell jackets with bottoms to match, as well as shirting and a nuanced take on archetypal garments. Since then, we have seen J EONGL I experiment further with fabrics, seam taping and patterns, whilst being mindful of the impact it leaves on the planet.
With the aid of Impossible Objects, J EONGL I showcased its Autumn/Winter ‘23 (In January) and Spring/Summer ‘24 (June) collections in Paris, garnering attention from press and buyers alike. Due to release in the coming months, the A/W range is fitted with mixed fabric vests, translucent shell jackets and panelled bottoms, each equipped with the usual bells and whistles.
Using social media to his advantage, Jeong Li has amassed a combined following of 13,000 people across his two Instagram profiles which he uses to show behind-the-scenes imagery of the product process, lookbook imagery and press features, of which he has been featured by eye_C, Hiking Patrol and Sabukaru, to name a few.
With this support on its side, This Thing of Ours is excited to be welcoming J EONGL I into its mix - more to come on that in the coming weeks and months.
Soon to be available from This Thing of Ours.
