This Thing of Ours x Mackintosh Collaboration 002 Spring/Summer ‘23
Written by Ali George Hinkins
For Spring/Summer ‘23, This Thing of Ours reunites with a fellow Northern England native, Mackintosh, on a second consecutive capsule which sees the retailer exercising its collaborative power.
In case you missed it the last time around, the partnership between This Thing and Ours and Mackintosh emerged organically due to a shared admiration of one another's craft and, of course, products of a technical nature. Both operating from the North of England, This Thing of Ours’ Manchester store is located a mere 40 miles from Mackintosh’s Nelson site, making this a celebration of British manufacturing and forward-thinking design.
This Thing of Ours plucked two early 2000s silhouettes from its personal archive that would go on to become the Flora Taped Windbreaker and Flora Taped Wide Pant. With an overarching natural theme, the unique design can be partly attributed to a study of plants and their structures, as evident in the Midrib-like contrast taping. Sourced from an industry-leading mill in Italy, the garments are constructed using a lightweight technical fabric developed by Olmetex. Finally, they are finished with cord adjusters on the hem and hood for a locked-in fit as well as pockets to keep your belongings safe. Each style comes in two colours: Beige Orange & Foliage Green.
The collection will be exclusively available from This Thing of Ours and Mackintosh online and in-store.
