New Brand Alert - Wild Things Japan

A distant cousin to the tactical clothing company Wild Things USA that makes clothing for some of America's elite special forces untis, Wild Things Japan is the super hard to find brand that's manufactured specifically in Japan for the Japanese market.

Taking influences from the original Wild Things USA tactical clothing & military heritage as well as from vintage garments, Wild Things Japan pushes forward in true Japanese style to produce modern outdoor and lifestyle pieces that are both functional and timeless. The outdoors and military life are at the heart of every Wild Things garment whilst looking equally at ease in Soho, Shibuya or Salford. 

Until now Wild Things Japan products have been extremely hard to find in the UK. If you travelled a lot to Asia or were willing to pay extortionate fee's to a 3rd party service maybe you would've been lucky enough to pick up one of their iconic Monster Parka's or Happy Jackets.

Outside of that they're pretty much rarer than rocking horse sh1t. That's all about to change as This Thing Of Ours has just taken delivery of our first batch of products direct from Japan and they're even better than we remembered. 

Our Autumn Winter selection for 2020 includes some pretty iconic Wild Things Japan pieces. It wouldn't be a Wild Things party without the Monster Parka. This US military (PCU Level 7) inspired parka is the ultimate cold weather beater. Made using Primaloft Silver insulation and featuring a water resistant nylon outer fabric it's as warm as it looks. Using Primaloft Silver instead of down also means it makes a great alternative for those with a non down filling preference who don't want to sacrifice warmth. The longer style makes it perfect for low mobility activities whether thats watching football from the sidelines or for some extra campside warmth. 

Taking on a slightly shorter silhouette is the equally warm and very Japanese named "Happy Jacket". Again, using Primaloft Silver insulation for warmth and a water repellent nylon outer fabric its got a shorter length that makes it ideal for more mobile occasions. 

We've rounded off our Wild Things selection with some classic fleeces in the form of the Fluffy Boa Fleece Sweatshirt and the Fleece Magic Jumper. Both taking fleece layering from a different perspective. The Fluffy Boa Fleece Sweatshirt is all about comfort, soft fluffy high nap fleece for you to settle down in, perfect for those colder lockdown days ahead. The Fleece Magic Jumper takes on a more traditional climbing fleece style with an impressive pop of colour to alleviate those winter blues. 

So that's our intro to Wild Things Japan at This Thing Of Ours. A blend of military heritage and outdoor expertise combined with a Japanese styling and aesthetic more suited to urban life. Pretty nice stuff eh!
