Tapping Into The Field with Welter Experiment

Exclusively available at This Thing of Ours, Welter Experiment is a South Korean label, established in 2021, that has since been making steady inroads into the technical apparel scene.
Welter Experiment is a brand set on bridging the gap between rural and urban environments through carefully considered design. By blending aesthetics tailored to an urban setting with functional details seen on outdoor clothing, they are the epitome of utilitarianism. Still relatively new in its inception, Welter Experiment was only launched in October 2021 yet their innovation is hard to falter, meshing technical details with easy-to-wear silhouettes.
For Spring/Summer ‘22, This Thing of Ours is host to a number of different Welter Experiment garments including their Three Layer Compact Windbreaker Jacket, Lightweight Field Pullover with coordinating Pants and, to top things off, the 6 Panel Hiking Cap.
Merely dubbed as a ‘windbreaker’ by Welter Experiment, there is far more to this jacket than meets the eye, so let's get stuck in a bit. It has been constructed using a fully seam taped three layer nylon fabric which, thankfully, is waterproof so you won’t be caught out in unexpected showers. The jacket has been cut with ergonomic movement in mind, with half sleeve detailing allowing the wearer to move without feeling restricted in any way. A carefully positioned rear vent and two-way zipper only seek to increase breathability should things get a little steamy. Finally, finishing touches that bolster the jacket's functional prowess include a storm hood with adjustable toggle and laminated zippers.
Presenting their take on the age-old tracksuit bottom, these guys do things with a little more care and attention, especially in the design of their Lightweight Field Pants. To achieve a seasonally appropriate design, they have delivered a product that is both lightweight and water repellent with a number of zipper pockets granting plenty of storage opportunities. Reflective contrast stitching throughout heightens the wearer's visibility in low-lit conditions. Available in a choice of Sage Grey or Black. If you fancy the idea of coordinating your top and bottoms, they have also released the Lightweight Field Pullover which is a technical alternative to a typical sweatshirt but with more practical offerings like pocket storage, windproof fabric and reflective detailing. Both items are adjustable in many areas for a more comfortable fit.
For all the hat fans out there, myself included, Welter Experiment’s Hiking 6 Panel Cap does far more than the design suggests. Once again, it has been made using a windproof and waterproof nylon material with some spot-on finishing touches like an adjustable toggle and side branding.
