As we move firmly into summer, Sedan All-Purpose joins the curation of brands at This Thing Of Ours. The Tokyo-based brand sits in between highly functional clothing and classic sportswear that is well appreciated for its practicality.
A name with two meanings. “Sedan” refers to the US name for the type of everyday saloon car known to most. Something that, for them, comes to mind as the perfect blend between nostalgia and freshness. “Universal, for all goals, for everyone” for anyone, at any time. That's what "all-purpose" means to the brand. A desire to create comfortable clothing that seamlessly fits in to your daily life. Sedan-All Purpose takes an appreciation of classic American sportswear and workwear of the 90s, adding a contemporary technicality into the mix. The result is a series of pretty impressive collections that are versatile, practical and above all, easy.
Their inaugural collection at This Thing of Ours lives up to their name. Expect lightweight outerwear crafted from a water-repellent nylon alongside classic hoodies crafted from a 100% cotton jersey. A duo of wide trousers in the SS25 collection, one a functional pair of nylon convertible trousers. The other is a pair of wide polyester slacks that manages to feel like tropical wool, adding ventilation through concealed mesh panels, suitable for warmer climates you may find yourself in. A great selection of embroidered baseball caps that look like they could fit into your grandad’s wardrobe just as well as your own top it all off.
Only 4 years on, Sedan All-Purpose already has an array of collaborations under its belt with the likes of sportswear and workwear giants Umbro and Dickies, speaking to the brand's credibility. Sedan All-Purpose is one to follow as they continue to add a fresh take on classic 90s Americana.
