Anglan Joins the This Thing of Ours Offering for Spring/Summer ‘22

Boasting a considerable following on Instagram - 143k followers at the time of writing this - Anglan is somewhat of a mystique in the UK. Through their distinctly oversized silhouettes and eccentric digital imagery, they have garnered a following that is hard to rattle. However, for a long time, it’s a brand we have only been able to admire from afar but now, thanks to This Thing of Ours, it’ll be in stock for Spring/Summer ‘22 onwards.
Hailing from Seoul, South Korea, Anglan is considered by many to be the pioneers of the whole ‘Wide-Casual’ look that has become increasingly prevalent of late. Taking ordinary silhouettes like cargo bottoms and mod jackets and giving them extra volume whilst retaining their original identity. They are really and truly flying the flag for such relaxed cuts of clothing that can be worn with ease by anyone.
Like many other designers and brands, Anglan draws on inspiration from a whole host of uniforms like Americana, Classic Outdoors style and Military, but presented through their own unique lens. As a result, this manifests in items like multi-pocket vests, wide-cut cargo pants and their take on the classic denim trucker jacket.
One of the first pieces to land at This Thing of Ours is the ‘Mountain Down Fleece’. Inspired by vintage outdoor styles, it’s a loose-fitting layer of double fleece glory featuring a contrasting chest pocket, high neck collar and two-way zipper, so layering is more than welcome.
Joining the prior garment and simultaneously covering the well-needed base for elevated staples, the Wappen Half-Neck Sweatshirt and coordinating Bottoms are added to the roster. The Half-Neck sports a relatively unique construction with a mock-neck design and three-dimensional fit providing additional room throughout the sleeves and body. It is made using heavy-duty structured cotton with double-stitching throughout for added reinforcement in holding shape. It will be available in a choice of either Black, Brown and Grey. Made using the same fabric, the Wappen Sweat Bottoms are a modern take on the comfort-focused sweatpant but with a couple of Anglan appropriate tweaks. Unlike a normal pair of sweat bottoms, these have no cuff on the leg hem so they drape carefully over your shoe of choice. There are two highly-wearable colourways to choose from: Black and Grey.
Lastly, the Fatigue Rib Army Balloon Pants do everything they say on the tin - military-inspired fatigues meet a signature Anglan cut. They have been made using high-density cotton that has undergone a bio-washing process to make the appearance more natural and lightly worn-in. Thanks to various points of adjustment, like on the hem and waist, the fit of the bottoms can be altered depending on the wearer’s style. These are available in a choice of Grey and Ivory.
