Archival Reinvent Introduces Data_Indux System A01
As we get ready to welcome a new collection of products from Hong Kong based label Archival Reinvent for Autumn Winter the brand has introduced a new diffusion line dubbed ‘Data_Indux System’ with this season being coined as A01 and with future editions set to release in coming years. Much like its earlier bodies of work, the Hong Kong-based collective is set on engineering its garments toward a dystopian future.
Building upon themes of functionality and utility expressed in previous collections, A01 takes signature models from prior seasons and presents them in a new form that distinctly follows Archival Reinvent’s design cues. The pieces of uniform we see developed by ARC for 2022 are replete with technical detailing allowing them to coexist in any wardrobe.
Within the lookbook, we see models heavily draped in A01 layers and fixed with injury aids, building on the post-crash theme that holds a firm grip on the collection; there are also various car parts, such as doors, throughout the images.
Appropriately tailoring its offering to the season in question, the ensemble consists of signature, re-worked styles that cover mainstay categories such as outerwear, legwear, tops, accessories and headwear.
The selection of tops and shirting is delivered in a distinctive way that only ARC could mimic; taking short sleeve shirt silhouettes and reworking them with lightweight fabrications all whilst ensuring that storage and movement are considered.
A large proportion of the collection is made using Teflon® which is an invisible fabric coating technology that repels both water and dirt without compromising on the overall finish of the garment. Some technical capabilities of those mentioned above include faster drying times, enhanced durability and water, dirt
and stain repellency.
In true form, the majority of the garments adopt a strict monochromatic colour palette of deep blacks and modest greys and, on the other end of the spectrum, earthy and natural tones clad certain garments.

Still relatively new in its inception, Archival Reinvent launched at the beginning of 2021 with its debut Spring/-Summer ‘21 collection titled, “Recovered: Disk Reserve”, which saw them seek inspiration from the 1999 sci-fi
cult classic, The Matrix - a film that envisions a dystopian future whereby humanity is trapped in a simulated reality.
Through their wares, the Hong-Kong-based brand continues to test the parameters of functionality through multi-pocket designs, oversized silhouettes and utilitarian detailing. The pieces they craft act as a uniform for urban dwellers, providing them with the armour they need for these environments.
